Moslem lady in prayer

To thee we pray,

by whatever name we may,

in thee our devotion lay.

 The photo with intricate architechtural designs replete with beautiful stucco inscriptions in Perso-Arabic is that of the Mosque of Nizam Khan Sikander II aka ‘Sikandar Lodi’ located inside the Lodi gardens in New Delhi. The mosque is situated in the Bara Gumbad which also houses a big domed structure and a Mehman Khana (Guest house) that was built in an earlier period before it was taken over by Sikander Lodi who built his mosque besides it.

‘EARTH PRAYER’ – A play at Annual day celebration 2013 of Springdales School, Dhaula Kuan

On a fine evening of December 06, 2013, my daughter’s school Springdales School, Dhaula Kuan (New Delhi), held its Annual day and Prize giving function 2013 at the school’s auditorium. A play titled “Earth Prayer”, conceived and written by the Principal Dr. Jyoti Bose was staged by the students, including my daughter. It was a dramatic and impactful story on how our beautiful earth has been ravaged by Man’s greed and the need to rise up to the effort of saving the earth before it is too late. Here is a photo essay of the play….as I was able to capture it.

Surya Namaskar 3 (2)

As breaking dawn heralds your march,

filling the sky with thy beaming radiance,

infusing bodies and minds with renewed vigor,

unshackling frozen wings from its stupor,

giving it strength to take flight one more time,

to take to the skies of unbounded freedom,

with the promise of a whole new voyage;

Salutations to thee, O bringer of hope and courage.
