The brilliance of Black

Nehru park_28

What shall life be

without a little dab of black ?

Everything would be so drab

in the blinding swath of bright.

For it is in darkness,

where shines the light,

and only with a dash of  black

does the palette come to life.

A colour so pervasive

that it often escapes the mind,

and yet it makes all else shine

to the eye that would otherwise be blind.

That is the brilliance of BLACK.

” Without black, no color has any depth. But if you mix black with everything, suddenly there’s shadow – no, not just shadow, but fullness. You’ve got to be willing to mix black into your palette if you want to create something that’s real”. (Amy Grant)
